The Farm:

Twin Lakes Farm is located within Twin Lakes Park on the border of Eastchester and Bronxville New York. Twin Lakes offers english riding lessons by appointment 7 days per week.  We offer both private and group instruction for children and adults, beginning at 6 years old.  The farm consists of more than fifty stalls, three rings, five paddocks and three wash stalls.  A bit of the country, in the heart of southern Westchester!

Our lessons range from beginner first time lessons to Jumping and Horse Shows.  Beginner and Novice riders begin with private ½ hour lessons until they are ready to join a one-hour group lesson.

Twin Lakes Farm maintains over 30 lesson horses at any given time of varying levels.  Our purpose is to expose children and adults to English Riding in a safe and fun environment. For those wishing to pursue riding further, we offer leasing, sales and boarding of private horses.

Summer Camp:

Twin Lakes Farm offers an intensive summer riding program during the months of July and August.  The program is co-educational and is designed to suit the needs and abilities of students ages 6-13 who are interested in English or Hunt Seat riding and Horsemanship.

Students need to be comfortable at the walk and trot in order to qualify for the minimum level of camp.  Students not currently riding at Twin Lakes or those who are unsure should schedule an evaluation lesson before enrolling in camp.

Camp is co-educational and begins at 8:45 AM and ends at 12:45 PM.

Children are grouped according to ability.  The day is broken down into three sections.  Enrollment is divided into three groups who have an assigned counselor and rotate between the activities.

Riding:  Students ride 1– 1.5 hours per day.  As their stable skills improve they will groom and tack their horses for their lessons.  Group lessons are both on the flat (no jumps) and over fences (jumping!).  Lessons take place in the indoor or either of the outdoor rings.

Arts and Crafts:  In keeping with the horsey theme, our arts and crafts director organizes projects including: horse shoe picture frames, paint your own pottery and other campy type projects.  Campers participate daily in arts and crafts, in addition to their riding and stable time.

Horsemanship:  Campers learn the important skills in caring for their horse.  Lectures or demonstration are designed to further the student's education regarding horses and proper horsemanship.  The lectures range from grooming and tacking to visits with our farrier, dentist or veterinarian.  Topics include feeding, general healthcare needs, equine first aid, fitting proper tack and equipment and horse show etiquette.

 Summer Leasing:

Have you ever thought about a horse of your own?  The Summer Lease Experience is the answer!

The Summer Lease provides the Experience of individual horse ownership without the investment and long term commitment - but with all the Fun!

A select number of horses for qualified riders are available for the Summer Lease Experience from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  Riders eligible for the Summer Lease Experience need to be comfortable alone in the barn tacking and untacking.

The typical lease afternoon includes grooming and tacking your horse, hacking (riding without supervision on the flat) or a riding lesson, (2 lessons per week are included in the Summer Lease) untacking, bathing and hand grazing before putting your horse to bed.  It is a daily time commitment of 2-4 hours Monday-Friday.

The Summer Lease Experience is available week by week or for the full month.  Priority will be given to those leasing for the month.  The Summer Lease Fee is $450 per week, Monday-Friday afternoons, including 2 lessons weekly!

Summer Lease Experience riders who are also enrolled in camp for the same week receive a 10% discount on Camp.
